Fished with a friend who bought my old boat and did some trolling for walleys on Longview lake last evening, we only managed one small walleye and a few other species and then after dark we trolled over a main lake point and a fish hit my crankbait and the fight was on...of course while my drag was singing and the pole was doubled over I had thoughts of a huge walleye or a big flathead (my friend had caught a 12lber. a few nights earlier) and then up came the monster.... a 12.5lb.![]()
DRUM that is
I briefly considered taking him home and finding out if they really are a good eating fish but the late hour and laziness won out and he swam away. Nice evening fishing a different lake with a good friend

Still fun to catch them, especially that big. Good job
Nice size fish. Much as it cost me to get on a Jackson County lake, wife probably make me eat that one. Blue Springs lake, flat, mouth of marina cove, wipers. Same money I believe.
