After years of using canola oil and generic vegetable oil, I finally switched to peanut oil a month ago and love it. It costs a bunch on the front end, but I'm still using the first batch of peanut oil, and with a little straining and proper storage, it's just as good as when it was fresh. The wife hates fried fish (she had to have a flaw somewhere), and won't eat chicken or french fries cooked in oil that had been used for fish, but with peanut oil, she can't tell that it was used for fish.

I have switched from Peanut to Riceland rice bran oil. I really like it, you dont have to worry about food allergy issues it has a higher smoke point than peanut oil. Its actually pretty healthy for you.

If it comes to frying, you got to use peanut oil because it won't transfer any tastes from prior uses, can be used for lots of different foods, and holds the temp well without burning. Can be reused over and over if strained with micro-mesh strainer prior to each use. Besides, it's more healthy than the other oils.
