Bought okumas this year and i would not trade them for anything. Not sure about the braided stuff but 10lb mono works fine. And definately use hivis whatever you decide.
Single pole mafia
Okuma 12lb mono envy green. Grizzly jig best store hands down.
We just bought 12 South Bend line counters from Northwoods, they seem to do a good job, used a few of them this past weekend.
I did notice with the spool full of 14 pound line the counters was a little on the high side, one foot was about 17 inches, needless to say I had some line out. lol
I do it a little different I guess, I buy about 3 different color line and spool them on different reels and when I get a tangle, and you will, they are easier to get untangled.
It's CRAPPIE season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Power Pro Depth Hunter or Depth Seeker (can't remember the name exactly) is the best one of these. It changes color every 25' AND has a mark every 5' on each color. Easy to get accurate line out readings especially when long lining or pushing cranks. I bought. 9000' of it in the 20/6.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

I spool about 180 ft of 8/30 suffix hi-vis braid on and then tie some bulk mono on. Fill it with the mono til it's full then tie the end of that mono on another okuna and wind it onto that reel. Do that every reel except that last one. Then they read correctly.

If you get the Magna reels spend a few extra bucks and get the pros much better reel. I have 6 Magnas and 2 Magna pros. I use triline 10lb xt or big game for walleye's up here in Michigan just starting to troll for crappie and I'll use the same setup. I also use precision trolling data to get my depths right. Not sure how critical it is for crappie on inland waters but I do know it is the only way on the Great Lakes. I do use braid for dragging bass out of the pads
Three quarters of the Earth's surface is water, and one quarter is land. It is quite clear that the Lord intended us to spend three times the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn
