Thread: Favorite floats/ bobbers?

I have been using this type of balanced bobber for the last ten years. The various size bobbers are balanced for the weight lures I use. The bobbers will up set with a up bite which about 25% of the bites are up bites. The bobbers can be changed in seconds if need be.
I balance the bobbers with lead wire or 60/40 solder. Two pieces of silicon fuel line are used to attach the bobbers to the line. Each bobber is marked for the weight of lure used.
The same rigging can be use with a slip bobber using live bait.
I have found over the years that when fishing lures the balanced fixed bobber will out produce a slip bobber rig. I believe this is due to the more natural drop and action of the lures. When using live bait there is little or no difference between the bite action.
I use a ten foot lite action spinning rod with 4 or 6 Lb. line. This make for easy casting with the bobber set to fish at 6 to 9 feet.
