Thread: Anyone been on Bankhead latley?

I'm thinking about going Wednesday or Thrusday. Will be putting in around Franklin Ferry. Curious how the bite is, and at what depth they are being caught? Thanks in advance.

Lucky5, It may be too late to help. But the fishing on Bankhead lately has not been real good. Rumor has it that they are making repairs to a hydro generator at Bankhead lock and dam. Last year at this time I was doing really well but now it's not so good. The popular opinion is that they aren't moving as much water so the fishing has suffered as a result. I have caught a few pretty decent fish lately pulling crankbaits early in the morning. My opinion is that right now they should be getting in a summer pattern and being caught on the river channels in 16 to 30 feet deep spider-riggin. By the way the Lost Creek Crappie Club will be holding a tournament this Saturday June 7th at Gee's Landing. If anyone wants to join the club and play with us just be there about 5 am and get registered. 30 dollar membership fee and 40 dollar entry fee.
