Default You meet the funniest people on the lake

Well I took the wife and one of her friends out to the lake Monday. So I wanted her friend to experience catching lots of fish. So I took both of them to a spot I knew would produce a lot of White Perch this time of year. We were not disappointed. 7 dozen minnows gone in 2.5 hours. I tell you I love my new Minn Kota and that lock spot. I marked the spot on the point to hold and it just kept me there catching fish. We were tight lining in 23 feet of water off of the bottom on that point.
Also Wife's friend Linda caught this fish.

Then I ran into this character you know as brettw. He like my umbrella so much look what he put on his boat. brettw had a good day fishing for those Crappie. He said he pulled 14 crappie on one brush pile. I am happy for him. I was chasing the other white meat.

Me personally, no fan of the white perch. But given the choice of catching or not catching, white perch fills that void. Congrats on the big haul, and fun day on the lake

Way to go! Sounds like you put them ladies on a lot of fish! Nothing like loading the boat with fish and I like to eat White Perch about as good as Crappie.

Brett looks like he's chillin like a villian in his new shady spot. Looks to be very comfortable fishing.

Good report and pictures CK. I took my GKs yesterday for some perch action on Murray. I have a question for you or someone else who chases the WP. We found them last Friday in about 25 FOW. but most were small, only 1 of 5 or less were decent keepers.
Went to same spot yesteday and all were small, 6 to 8 inches. They went through 4 Dz minnows in about 90 minutes. OK I realize I should have gotten a 1/2 Lb. but my GD will bait her hook with worms so I had a tub of them also. The were not as productive as the minnows.
My question is where would the bigger White Perch hang out? After a couple of hours in that spot I ran across the lake to some 35 to 40 ft water where we caught a ton on them in January and we did not get a bite. So where would you look for the larger ones to be hanging out?
    Thanks .
