    I've pond fished for years and I have caught everything in my ponds on basic beetlespins.

    My father in law and I recently got his old Tracker Boat back in service (after many years of sitting covered) and he has a trailer off of Pleasure Point on Lake Claiborne. He and I both have a love of fishing and we've caught many crappie in the ponds with nothing more than beetlespins.

    However, I would like some tips, suggestions, and help getting into crappie fishing on lakes which I know aren't going to work with just beetlespins.

    I'd love suggestions on equipment, tackle, and everything else that would help me and my father in law get it done.

    I'm going to be out on Claiborne this Saturday morning and will gladly meet anyone fishing out on the water.

    I don't want to infringe on honey-holes, just need some guidance both in the store and out on the water.

    Welcome to the forum.....I fish with a 10 ft jig pole with 8# Stren gold mono line.....either with a cork or no cork (tight line)....fish with (blue & white or black & char) tube jigs (mostly 1/16 oz) both ways and shiners (gold hook) with a cork....fish around structure or laydowns (down trees) ......sometimes a road runner on a spinning reel set up....

    Welcome to the forum. I fish Darbonne mostly, but Claiborne sometimes. I spider rig mostly. I have rigged my boat for six poles in the front and four in the back. I'm in the process of changing that to a glass boat with dbl seats in the front. I like to use 12 to 16 foot rods and normally fish jigs on 1/16th oz jig heads but occasionally shiners. I normally troll from .1 to1 mph. I try to keep as many colors in the boat as I can. Some days one color is best, other days they won't touch it.
    I sometimes single pole or two pole. Not an overly bright fellow, I have always done best when someone shows me how to do something. If you can get with someone for a day or two it would put you right on track. If I can help let me know. There's some good knowledgeable folks over in your area. Becoming an active member on CDC is definately a step in the right direction.

    I actually have all of that deep within the recesses of fishing stuff that I have accumulated through the years. I will definitely let you know how I do and I hope to even have pics if I have anything worth bragging about this Saturday.

    I to fish D'Arbonne . My mailman shares info on the bonne last week he caught fish in 16 foot suspended at 6 feet. in the clear water of Claiborne that translates to 25 foot deep , suspended at 15 foot. If there are stumps in the area it is a Plus
