    Default Mcpherson State Lake 5-28-29-14

Booked a cabin for a few days at Mcpherson State Lake since this time of year like to get after bedding largemouth. This is a very cool lake and like to watch the buffulo and elk in the Maxwell Wildlife Preserve adjacent to the lake. What it must have been like to live back in those days...... All bass were returned to fight another day!

Nice fish! Haven't been out there for awhile...always seemed to be a ton of little fish out there but fun to catch none the less. Pretty good Channel Cat fishing out there as well.

They only got one cabin but it is in good location and is nice cabin. Brad it is not to far bout 30 miles southeast of salina. Has some good fish and yes would be a good place to take kids. My boy has already hooked for a long time and he really liked it. Can even get the real young ones fishing since sunfish can be caught easily. Name: 20140529_203250.jpg

Nice going! The lake has been on my list of lakes to fish this spring, but haven't made it there yet. McPherson can be a good topwater frog lake, especially around all the vegetation on the shallow end of the lake.

Yah there was a frog bite there that weekend but seemed like you could catch a few fish no matter what you were throwing. Was getting larger fish using finese style baits so stuck with that after the early morning bite was slowing down.
