    When connecting 2 batteries in series what gauge of wire should you use? Thanks

    I like 6, I know it will hold up

    The bigger the better but wire is costly. I know my onboard battery charger has either 12 guage or 14 guage wire connecting the batteries to the charger. That said....if youre hooking a set of series batteries to your trolling motor then use the guage recommended in your tm specs (which is 6 or 8 guage I believe). If youre just hooking battery to battery and that's all youre accomplishing then buy the leads at Walmart. Theyre big guage wire and already have the connectors made on the cables and are fairly cheap. Theyre located on a rack where the batteries are kept.

    What Gabowman said. Connecting two batteries should be at least 4 and I prefer 2 if I can get it.
