In 2008 or 2009 there was a similar meeting in Paris, Tn. Steve Mc Adams was and is again leading the charge for change. Steve wanted to lower the limit to 20. Kentucky has done that. What are their results? Tim Broadbent TWRA local biologist in the meeting stated to help the crappie numbers to improve by lowering the limit, the limit would need to be lowered to approx. 5 fish. Tim stated one of the better ways to improve the numbers was to increase the 10' size minimum to 11". Tim also stated drought conditions were a major factor n the crappie population. In 2010 we had more water than we wanted, 2011 still had plenty as in the winter water was approx. 357 , 2012 was a good fishing year and there was plenty of water as many times as in 2013 the levels were well over pool. Where are the fish? Has Kentucky wildlife released any reports on the Asian Carp kill? I see reports all the time where these fish are eating other fish. That being the case solve that problem & all this other will go away. Folks I only 5% of fisherman are catching limits, reducing the limit to 20 will not help.

Asian Carp (Silver & Bighead) are not eating "other fish" ... they're filter feeders & eat plankton.
There was a report that I read, stating that the "fish kill" below the dams at KY & Barkley lakes may have been a result of too much oxygen. But, this latest report seems to indicate that may not necessarily be the case : http://murrayledger.com/news/reasons...9bb2963f4.html
If you want to see the results of KY's creel limit reduction to 20/person/day ... look on the KY forum, at the reports being posted. No, it wasn't popular when it was first introduced ... but, most seem to have come to grips with it.
You also have to consider the fact that KY Lake, in KY ... is a wide stretch of lake and encompasses a lot of the total acreage of the main body of the lake .... while, on the other hand, the Tenn portion is more of a river system setting.
Another point of interest is that KY does not count "processed" fish towards your Possession Limit, whether afield or in the home freezer.

I was not able to get off work in time to make it tonight. When someone gets a chance tonight can you please give us a recap of what was discussed. Thanks!
