Of course not. You just need to learn not to care what other people think!

All sorts of people on the water anymore, not all of them are nice or share. We where pulling cranks yesterday at clinton letting Eric son catch wiper and we crossed a spot we wanted to go back and jig. We stopped pulled in our cranks and turned around and headed 50 yards back, we get there and pull up to our spot and look down and a guy ran over and tossed out a marker buoy so we couldn't fish it once he noticed what we where thinking. We just pulled up and headed on. Then the same guy 30 minutes later cruises between us and a stranded boat on the north side of the lake. Instead of stopping and help those guys in he sped off so we made Eric's son stop fishing, pulled up and went and helped them. Good lesson in general about helping people but he cost a kid two different fishing opportunities. Chatt, you would have put the rod in the kids hand so don't worry about it.
It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

I don't kiss and tell to often . Everyone who ownes a computer can read these post . With todays electronics and new baits we have an advantage over the fish most days so why tell the world where and how to fish, I might tell them what lake they have to figure out how and where.

I share info pretty willingly but 2 out of 3 times the guy ends up being a "Taker" and its all about him. You only hear from him when he's not catching fish. Ahhhh....but the 1....ends up being someone worth knowing and my life is better. Worth it in the end.......

Pretty much agree, if ya give to much info its no longer fishing! I sure as heck wasnt spoon fed when it came to fishing! Th general scoop is plenty, besides, finding your own fish is what its all about. If someones willin to help the rookies lout who cares, JMO

I don't crappie fish much or post much here, but I do post fairly frequently on some other fishing forums. Really enjoy reading CrappieChat's posts here when they show up. I expect that most others do as well, and you're just hearing from the vocal minority. Keep on keepin' on!

    Chatt,

You and I know if you post too much, you are just bragging. Well I think that’s part of this forum. Brag and share with others. Guiding has taught me several things about fisherman. You will have the ones that want all the answers but won’t ever share back unless you corner them, and ones that will ask tons of questions and share with their friends. I love to help anyone but now, if you want to know where the fish are, get in my boat and pay me and I will show you. That’s my job and I can’t help everyone out or they will be in the spot I want to put my clients on. If a client wants to go back out and fish the same spot he hired me to show him, that fine. That’s why we are always finding new areas to fish.

My friend always said, “ Your damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t”.

Your good at what you do, and some will love you for it and some won’t. Just keep on keeping on and worry about yourself and your clients. There isn’t nothing for free anymore.

When I get asked about where the fish are, I will give a depth and let them work it out from there. Fishing isn't about catching all the time. If you don't learn something while doing it, your not going to become a good fisherman.
