That's encouraging to hear Line siders at Wateree. Better dust off the boat and go hunting.

Slid into Clearwater Cove @ 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. Water temp. 75, air temp. 46 and dumb old Thumper forgot his jacket. Went over to the Honeyhole and fished there until @ 10:00. I caught five smallish stripers, seven cats from @ a pound to five pounds, and four large perch. The action tailed off, and I moved down river and could not mark any fish. Moved up river and fished another hour without a bite. Beautiful blue bird day, but the fishing was slow. I loaded up about 11:30 and called it a day. I at least had one good meal of fresh striper for several of us.

Sounds like you had a good morning. The cold weather last week was feeling good compared to these hot temps this week![]()

Congrats on the catch Thumper. Glad seeing you got out and caught a few.![]()
You know the white perch is closest kin to the striper. Hope you kept them too, they make fine eating. Course there is nothing wrong with those cats in the fryer either.
Mark 1:17 ...I will make you fishers of men
I agree SeaRay. Years ago when we first started catching the perch we would throw them back. After they got some size to them and they started eating all of my striper bait, I kept some one day. I haven't thrown one back since. They are some good eating.
