Slow death is a special hook with a unique bend in it that causes the crawler to actually spin in the water when trolled. They are usually pulled behind bouncers. I use around a 3 foot leader from the bouncer to the slow death hook. Also for it to work properly you won't put a whole crawler on, just enough so the hook will spin. When rigging the slow death, use a quality barrel swivel to prevent line twist! Don't know it any of the other wally fishers use them or not....try Berkley gulp pinched crawler or the killer crawler. I've been using one or the other the last several years with good results.

Ive never tried that. Usually bounce something with one or two blades. Heard bout it a lot. Wish I could have joined you. I've never been able to figure Melvern out very well. Sure do kill lots of birds out that way. But I just dont fish it well. Thanks for the tip.
