    If you would have put it back to let it grow up it was gonna be your elusive 3 pounder. I put back a 16 inch crappie on Ouachita earlier this year because it was the only one I caught that day might need to get my head examined

    That is a good one , most of us still searching for the one over 3 lbs. Biggest I've caught in years was only 2 lb 13 oz so don't feel too bad.

    Could have been the scales! !!! A lot of the hand held scales varies 1-3ozs!!!

    I threw back several in the 2 lb range. This is the only one I kept because I thought it might make 3lbs. I took it to the bait shop and it was just a little shy. Its in my freezer. It will probably go on the wall anyway.

    Very nice. I caught five 2 lb 12 oz fish this year. Released them all hoping they might turn into 3 pounders.
