This last storm system just killed the shallow bite where I fish. I went from catching 20-30 per day to almost nothing. I suspected they moved back to deeper waters and I noticed some guys in a boat fishing at depths of 8-12 feet catching large females about 60 feet from the bank. They were double-dipping jigs and doing really well. I suspect the crappie will move back in close to the bank over the weekend because the spawn isn't over. Half the females I cleaned 2 days ago still had eggs.

On Kerr the spot I did well on shallow 4 days ago had almost none yesterday.
Caught them Good Friday Stink in your area on cork n jig 6" deep. Mostly 11" to 12" males with a few females mixed in. Great Bite.......Ranger

Yea Ranger, they started coming back in shallow yesterday and they're biting good again. The females I cleaned yesterday still had eggs. Next time you're in the area, give me a call.
