Thumbs up Crappie Masters Coming to North Central Louisiana

I have been talking to Crappie Masters for some time now and trying to convince them to hold a tournament in this area. Today we had a meeting with Lincoln and Union Parish officials, Brandon (AKA Treefrog) of Bayou State Crappie Assassins and I had Mike Vallentine the owner of Crappie Masters on the phone. We managed to work out the preliminary details of a tournament to be held 04/18/2015. Ruston would be the host city and plans at this time are to fish D'Arbonne, Claiborne and Caney. This will be a chance for local people fishing home waters to participate in a national tournament with good cash prizes and a chance to qualify for the national tournament. There will be a childrens fishing rodeo and other activities. I hope there is enough participation to make this an annual event. I will make another post as the details are finalized.
    Have a blessed Day, James

We had a great meeting with the local officials, they are very supportive of our efforts and our focus on Crappie! Looking forward to this and other great opportunities here at home for us Crappie Anglers. A special thanks to James (SouthernChuter) for these efforts. I have spoken to CrappieMasters also many times and it is great when we can all work together for a common goal. Like James said, this has the potential to become an annual event and this is great news for getting Louisiana involved in these events!

That's great!!! I will definately be fishing this tournament. Will all 3 lakes be a part of 1 tournament? I'm a little confused. Depending on the weigh in, it could take an hour or more to get from one lake to a weigh in.

At this time all three lakes will be fishable waters; this could change. With Ruston as the host city and having the weigh in there it's about 30 minutes to each lake. Normally you have 1 hour after fishing ends to get in the weigh in line.
