    Default Oh well

So I went through all that mess with the ac as some may recall. Well got all of those fixed and then the blower just started acting up. The gosh dern fan blower motor is worn out (the one attached to the furnace) It was totally unrelated to the other junk. Oh and I did a further check of the coil. That sucker is leaking like a boat without the plug in it. Time to replace EVERYTHING.

ac is 1994 bryant furnace is 2002 goodman
ac actually works--but for what I have spent plus will spend to fix the blower and coil I'm considering it all junk. The boss said were not spending another dime fixing so new it is. Also the house is very small--only 1056sf and the unit is 4ton--which is a bit much--3ton at most is what i need/want. Got a quote for all new goodman stuff for 3701 installed but will probably go a different route. 12 years was a good run on things I suppose. Heck other 3 microwaves and two refrigerators this is the first MAJOR thing we've had go out since we moved in--I'd say that's not too bad it really sucks--but can't really complain--it could always be worse (which I halfway expect it to get )

3700 is a fair price on a goodman . I've seen them sell for around three grand for a three ton. They are one of the cheaper brands you can buy. Most units come with a ten yr parts warranty now. But the labor to replace the parts can become pricey. Good luck with your decision. If you have any questions ill try to help you.

Mike, give this guy a call, Lanes Heating and Air. Ken,901,351-9000. Did our house when we built it and did a complete unit on our other house couple of years ago. Use's Rudd stuff. Had zero problems and a great guy to work with. Unit on other house at the time was around 4,000.

tks Cray. I have one quote--got a guy coming tomorrow (a trane dealer) and another coming Friday. Will call Lanes as well. Basically gonna go with whomever has the best terms for the unit I suppose--kinda hate this shopping part almost as much as the trouble shooting and fixing lol.
