    Default Redear bite

I fished last Thur. and Fri. for redear and caught some nice ones that appeared to be staging up. The redear bite should really take off and be good for the next three weeks or better IMO.

I'm headed to LBL Sat. am for a week's worth of hardcore ear chasing. I'm usually exhausted after these trips and limp back to Indiana, but it's worth it. I haven't read any reports on redear yet other than this one. I know they're biting but apparently being caught by tight lipped folks.

Heading to ky lake next Wednesday to chase them myself. Looks like some warm weather next week . I hope it gets the bluegill and redear active

The reason most of us won't talk about redears is the fact the internet is full of scouts who want to gather info on spots but never contribute anything to the forums. They are then content to come here and sit on bluegill/redear beds for an entire week or until they pretty much catch every one that will bite. Those beds are not as widely distributed as crappie are on the spawn and the panfish will routinely spawn in the same general areas every year. Putting redear bedding info on the open forums is just cutting one's nose off to spite one's face.

Many times the cooler weather will slow them down a bit or back them out into deeper water. I hate to see the cool weather to be honest but it won't last long.

I know how you feel mrdux. There is a bunch from KY that comes up here and fishes the heck out of a small town lake. They come and stay all day and if its good it seems they must call others to come up and join them and they also ice fished the heck out of it this winter. It don't really bother me that bad I don't fish that lake much anyway but I can't begin to tell you how many local people are upset with it.
