    Default Shelbyville question

Compared to this time last year, can anybody tell me the lake level and water clarity?

Last year, flooded and muddy. This year, just about winter pool and good clarity.
Lets go soak a line. Pat

Hopefully the rains come in and bring the water levels back up to normal pool.

What is the pattern on Crappie right now? I'll be there in three weeks for Crappie.com camp. Hoping to have fish for dinner a couple nights.

I think this rain today might bring it back up.
Dont know it there is a true pattern from what I see. We have been catching ours spider rigging in water 15 ft deep or deeper and others are catching them over brush or on the standing timber.I'm pretty sure pulling cranks would have worked this past weekend.

The water levels are actually where they are aupposed to be this time of year. I like it low right now too. And y'all should too because you can find a lot more stumps and laydowns currently! There is a definite pattern going on right now. Males are up shallow in several places on hard wood and some brush in 2-7ft of water. Few females mixed in... Spider riggers are whacking them good catching roaming fish that aren't commited to the spawn yet or just looking for food! As said by Clfarms I can't imagine cranks not working right now too!

Shallow bite working for me however I have still had to look for them as they are not on every stump lay down or brush pile. When I have found them though they(males few females) they are stacked.

Search the corp website enough and you can find a history of lake levels. As Birdman said, it is close to normal right now. They usually jack it up to 599 around memorial day, which is considered summer pool.

    Ditto, thanks for the info.

Definitely sounds like a pre-spawn pattern.
