Default Dardenelle camp fishing with creek

Well taking a break from fishing in my boat I had the pleasure to fish with Mickey. We spent some time fishing and some time scouting for Saturdays big fish tourney. Mickey got a new 21 ft skeeter and man that's a nice ride for sure. We found some fish late Friday pm though finally.

Friday night I was talking with Creekslick and he offered to take us fishing. I told him I had some located and he offered to teach us long lining.

Friday night my family and I crashed in mickeys motor home and there wasn't much sleep. Them girls were little giggle boxes for sure. We all slept side by side with the poking and tickling it was hard to sleep. Finally they wore down though and we got a little sleep.

Saturday morning lil bit woke up early as usual with her fishing hat on. We met up with creek after the bass tourney start which sounded like a hornets nest lol. Creek, Mickey, lil bit and I left for the ramp. Wayne informed me he didn't get much sleep either as his dogs barked at every little noise. We launched and believe it or not I got to drive the new slick boat. Man what a smooth riding ranger. This boat is awesome and he has a boat of a life time.

We made a short ride across the bay and started putting lines out. Just getting set up we already had fish pulling on the rods. Mickey was the first to strike and lil bit followed close by him. Creek and I netted fish and had a big time watching the fish pull on the rods. I learned a lot for sure from wayne. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398616136.459358.jpg

The crazy thing was 90% of the fish were caught on one rod with one particular jig which Creekslick only had one of lol. I guarantee he will have more next time as them fish were tearing it up. Lil bit held her own and was like a coiled spring when the rod dipped. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398616282.677494.jpg

The pleasure was all mine JW. That girl is a treat to be around and is welcome to fish in my boat anytime. it's funny how a jig that you have hardly ever caught a fish on goes on a tare like the red white and blue did yesterday. Tell lil bit i really like my lanyard.

Will do Wayne. I was even prouder when she asked me for change. I asked lil bit what do you need change for. She replied "dad I want to give creek some money for gas since we used his boat". My heart melted as I was took back that she at 11 years old would have thought to do that on her own calling. Proud dad for sure. She is are up with tournament fishing!

You have something to be proud of, and it was hard to convince her I was not gonna take the money.

Great pictures. Wayne sure has a nose for a fish and how to put them in the live well. When he shows up at camp, he is always in the running for big fish.

    Great job Captain and crew.
