A few years back my girlfriend and I had a garage sale, afterwards I went just a mile or so down the road to get some snuff, and when I came back someone had stolen all of my white perch gear out of the garage. Couple 10'-14' jigging rods, 3 medium action spinning rods, and my entire collection of tackle... the worse part was losing my bait pump I bought from a member here.

Guess you can't leave your garage open even for a second anymore. Worse part about it was my girl was home in the bed sleeping when it happened. Things could've been a lot worse, glad it was only the fishing gear I lost.

Greg, the deputy told me that thieves around here have gotten real bold. Like in your case, he said they are seeing more cases where people are stealing stuff if the daytime when people are in the house. I guess it's just a wake up call to not get lax in protecting your stuff.

Absolutely. We currently live in a decent apartment complex, got tired of renting a house for the price of a mortgage 1.5x over, but we're looking to get into our own house sometime in the next 2 years. I bought a couple of infared game cams because of this, and will put one in the garage and at the front door. Our unit now has an alarm system.

For the bold who decide to enter our home without our knowledge they'll meet Mr.GermanShepherd and Mr.Remington870, just hope to God it never has to come to that.

    Sad but true.

I finally saw a kid fishing out of the boat that wound up with my stolen battery and called the deputy back. The kid took him to the man who owned the boat. Long story short, the deputies don't think either one had anything to do with it. They believe someone from outside the neighborhood was probably fishing at night, needed a trolling motor, took mine, and then just left it in the boat. Not sure I agree but I think that's the last I'll here about it. Think I got the neighborhood in a twitter with the deputies going back and forth.
