    Default Humminbird And I-Pilot

Why OH why can't they just figure out stuff right???
FYI if you have Humminbird 7-1100 units the or HD the I-pilot isn't compatible to run DI or SI you will have to "OLD SCHOOL" your unit by the way which you have to send yours back to them for them to swap it out unless you ask up front it's free, but check availability 1st I waited a
"MONTH" to get mine anyways not a big deal to do. Undo the 4 screws on the bottom of the I-Pilot head, unplug ground and hot wire these have a Blue wrapping , there is one more brown with a fuse it's hear shrink wrapped so remember to have an extra piece and slide it over the wire when you disconnect it ,then undo the cable which comes factory with the I-Pilot you won't need this anymore so pop the small black 3/4" holder plate off and pull it out, set the head to the side
Undo the screw under the head that goes through the shaft hold grasp all wires slowly slide the shaft out and down servo motor housing. I put my transducer mount on and used 2 zip ties to hold the wire securely to the shaft. Then fill the outer shaft intention with your choice of glue put the new transducer wire in and all the way through the servo motor mount and through the plastic keeper with the thumb twist knob then reinstall your head in the same way you took it apart. Any questions I'm here!! I put my new transducer wire right through the coiled up factory wire looks like it came from the factory!! Good luck and GOD bless!!!Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1397085780.582782.jpg

Shane has it nailed no DI with the us2 transducer. 2D isn't too bad. Sometimes you can find fish like this with it. 2D isn't so hot for seeing those imbedded in the brush.

Is the DI worth the extra wires hanging off the motor? That kind of stuff really unnerves me. has anyone mounted the transducer to the back as Minn Kota recommends? This however defeats the purpose of having the unit on the front.

I have my bow unit networked to the console unit with a SI/DI tranducer on the transom. You have the option under the network tab to select the advanced sonar source. On the 998 at the bow, the 2d uses the us2 sonar on the trolling motor and when I switch to the si/di view it uses the transducer at the transom.

Can you describe exactly what we're seeing? Where's the jig? Can you see the line too?
