Ipilot is copilot + auto pilot + anchor lock + cruze control + the ability to record tracks + a speed readout
can't see any advantage the copilot might have other than the remote is a lot smaller
You just gonna sit there an argue, or fish?

It is sort of like comparing a flip phone to a smart phone.

I liked my co-pilot, but I love my I pilot. I have it on a pontoon boat. the anchor is good, but, there is what I call a " rubber band effect" where it allows a drift of several feet from target and will then speed up and run past the target. But, wind, being unpreditible, just makes it tough. I still like the feature. It seems like I get a longer battery life with the I pilot, too.

    Love it, good trick!

I have an I Pilot and wouldn't be without it. Once you get some experience with it, you have a friend for life. I wonder if they can make it with voice control? B-

I haven't tested the remote distance, but you could remotely run your boat
away from the dock a ways and anchor it while you park your truck. Come back and pick yourself up at the dock. Not sure why you'd do it, but you could!

Now, there's an idea! That would certainly turn some heads; it would free up the dock, but somebody might slap their net over you and take you to the funny farm.

if you like to longline then the ipilot is worth its weight in gold but if you are a tightliner or fish brush you might wanna think about the plain old foot cable steer motors, they are quite when you turn them and they steer quicker. the ideal setup up would be to have both and be able to switch them for the technique, for the record i have a ipilot on my boat. though in shallow water when tightlining i often wish i had my cable steer.
