I had planned a trip last week to fish with my good friends Darren and Jimmy. The plan was to go and fish Jordan. We got to Ebeneezer at first light. The temp. was a brisk 45 degrees as we made the bumpy ride into the wind to the back of Beaver Creek. I found a few banks that were somewhat protected from the wind, where I have caught fish in the past. We long line trolled in about 3-5 ft. of water for about 2 hours only catching 5 small bass. Made one more try in the very back of the creek, but we were in the full force of the wind and even if we had of been catching crappie, I don't think it would have been worth it. So I made the decision to pull the boat out and head to Matt's secret spot. It turns out that was a good decision. It seems the secret is getting out however as there were about 13 boats in the area we have been fishing. It didn't seem to matter to the fish though as we caught them steady all day. We went through 8 dozen minnows and then started catching them on jigs. We caught well over 100 fish between the 3 of us but only kept 22 so Jim and Darren could fry some up this week. Here are some pics of them with their catch.
I also ran into fellow CDC member Larry. It was nice meeting you guys!
very nice, glad you found them
I was there( Matt's honey hole) Saturday morning for a few hours. Did not keep count but guessing we had over 60 in 4 hours fishing an released all.

Nice job Boyce!
Cool! Its a beautiful area. I may go after work one day this week. But I too have a hankering for some Roanoke Striper
Boyce, nice meeting you guys yesterday also. From the pictures you recently posted, I thought that sure looked like my honey hole.
nice catch
Sweet. I'm gonna put a GPS locator on one of your boats so that the rest of us can find this honey hole. How is the boat traffic at the Ebeneezer ramp? Getting crowded or not so bad?
brhunt, that sounds fine to me. I'm looking to head to the Roanoke shortly myself. I will probably head to Jamesville or Willamston since the stripers are not quite to Weldon yet plus Weldon gets absolutely crazy when they do. Been there when it takes 2+ hours to launch your boat and you can't cast out because the lure will just land in another boat.
Don't mean to high-jack the thread.
