Not trying to kill Mo's sale but it wont push it, too much boat for the 150 loaded the way we load em. WBs boat and bigger and heavier than mine and going to the 200 made a heck of a difference in mine.

You need to buy that motor from MO. That would be a deal to sit in on. Banker to Banker negotiations. Seriously that would be a good motor for your boat.

Maybe if he slowed down he wouldn't have these motor problems?
I aced my sales classes in college BTW. Reprop with a 4 blade, give up some top end for torque, and still come out cheaper than fixing yours.
But really, going from a 225 to a 150 would be like goin from a mustang to a pinto. Just letting you know it was out there
Mine is rated for 285. Now, if you had 2 of them bitty 150s, we might could talk.
I'm either sticking with a 225, or going to a 250. Depends on the motor I'm able to find.
Windknit, that's a beast of a motor, but those modded up jobs are better suites for a race hull, not a cruiser like mine.
If money was no object, I'd go with a straight 4 stroke Yammy. I'd gladly give up 5 years of go fast for 10 years of reliably and fuel economy. Trouble is, ya just can't find em with 20" mids unless you go new. Looks like I'll probably stick with a merc Opti or pro xs unless I find an hpdi I just can't live without and at a price where I could swing the cost of controls tank and prop.
Wannabe...v2.0
A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.
Wannabe,
I dont know if you are interested but a guy has an 04 225 Optimax for sale posted in the classifieds over on the Bullnettle news forum. Just thought I would let you know....
Always remember, it doesn't cost more to go first class, just puts you further behind.......
Good luck on ur quest...

Bassboat Central and Scream and Fly both have motors on the regular. You can sometimes find good deals on either.
The best option may be to find a guide in the Merc Pro Program. Some of those dudes have to buy a motor every year, so they wind up selling the old motor with 500 hours on it or so.
