No we had a lot of problems out of the equipment. We stopped installing them three years ago. Air to air will get you close to the same power bill with the right seer rating and insulation package. We installed around three hundred of them and probably lost close to 75 grand over a fifteen year period fooling with them.

I think they look good but my experience is plastic does not hold as many fish as wood.

Nimrod , I mixing them with Christmas trees and pallets. I've added sinking catfish food to the five places I've baited. I will fish them and give a report next week. I've fished one spot repeatedly the last two weeks and averaged ten fish each time. 10-14 " fish .if I can get all spot producing like that it will make for some good fishing.

Most of the "Natural Wood" vs "PVC" argument is from the fact that Small to Mid-sized Crappies like dense material to hide in....and that's it!
You can make dense PVC cover, like trays of PVC stakes, dense trees, etc....packing PVC tighter in your cover, equalizes the fish holding ability with wood!
Wood has the main benefit of decaying, which also provides food to baitfish or other small organisms in the food chain...the main benefit of PVC is that you NEVER have to replace it over and over, and once algae gets established, the benefit of wood is lessened even more!

Larger Crappie do not have the same cover requirements, they will normally move from area to area following the schools of baitfish like a Pelagic Predator....they will use your areas as resting stops, if it is near a feeding area, "hang-outs" after their bellies are full, or feeding stations for a quick appetizer!

With what you are doing you have provided everything needed for a Mini "self contained enviroment"....you have carefully thought out and included all of the needs for a nice Crappie habitat!
    GOOD FISHING!

Yup ! I`m gonna keep saying it: LONG lasting hardwood with PVC on the deeper side or end is THE `best` sets we have ever done ! Literally in this corner: your abundant biologically diverse smorgas board of tasty tidbits compromising a full naturally occurring food chain, from algaes and funguses, mircoscophic organisms up to small fish...and here on the deep end your assorted bad boys (and girls) of the ambush predator variety...it DON`T get any `better` than that, except at the supermarket !
