    Default Reelfoot 3/30

The temptation was to great and after working till lunch I had to hit the lake.
Fished from about 2 until dark all over the western end of the lower lake and picked up 11 but none that were really photo worthy. I did lose 2 very nice fish right at the boat. They were hitting very light so my hook sets where questionable.
Straight minnows seemed to do the trick today in anywhere from 10-14 feet of water right on the bottom.
All I caught where strips on the jigs today.
Water temp started out about 50 and rose to 54.5 when I headed in.
Still waiting for them to really turn on. It will probably happen while I am down in FL snook fishing
I apologize to any of those I may have offended with my whoops and hollars when my Wildcats won the game!

Thanks Trey. I did not have as good of luck as you did. I had (8) 10 to 11" crappie when I left at 3:30.

Tennessee Trey... Do you have a pirate flag on your boat? I knew I heard at least one other Wildcat fan on the water! We ended up with 25 good fish. 13 ft of water fishing 10 to 12 ft deep pushing minnows. Started fishing about 2:30 and caught most of our fish between 5 and dark.

Argggg.. that would be me Lake Rat. My boy put the Jolly Roger on the boat last year when we were out on a treasure hunt. I liked it so there it stays. Makes it easy for friends and family to find me on the water.
I got my best fish late in the day as well. Going to take the boy after school and see if we can hunt up a few more.

Well I finally got on the water bout 3 and fished til 6 and ended with ten. The lake was rollin pretty good when i got there but finally calmed down and the fish started biting but i had to leave because I still had no running lights on my trailer. Had blinkers and brake lights but no running lights go figure, I guess its back to the drawing board in the morning to try and figure out whats wrong. Suppose to be windy the rest of the week so no fishing for me, if anyone goes be safe and good luck

Danny, we fished it yesterday from 8 to 2 and it was slow for us. We trolled in the 10 to 12ft range and the fish we caught and missed were 1.5 to 2 ft. off the bottom. We had 10 fish and I saw one guy who was catching some but he was using double crappie rigs. I would say he had 20 when he left and I'm not sure what he was doing different than us other than the double crappie rigs. The other thing I have noticed in the past two trips I have went, I'm not catching any small fish??? I wonder why?? On the up side I had Great Day with my dad (pop) on the water.

We were out there Sunday as well, kept 12 from 7:30 to 12:30, nothing big, nothing small, I went through everything in my box trying to figure them out, seems like I caught most of them on small feather jigs I replaced the bottom hook of the minnow rigs with, did get some pretty good video I'll hopefully have it done tonight. I think we should have all been fishing much shallower stumps!
I clever quip fishing ironic statement crappie!
