Default A permanent place for spring and fall camps.

I'm just putting this out for discussion to see if anyone else is thinking the same as me. I have voted for fall camp to be held at Enid. I have attended several camps now and believe Enid has the best facilities to accommodate our gatherings. Everything....camp sites, cabins, and pavilion, are in one location. The other 2 most popular lakes are within a 30 minute drive. Has anyone else entertained the idea of making Enid a permanent location for our camps? If we did so the only thing left to decide would be the dates. Anyone wanting to fish or stay at the other lakes could still do so and still attend all functions. What y'all think?

I agree for the fall camp but how many folks caught the biggest fish of their life this last week? I know of 5, not sure that's gonna happen at Enid, I know its within reach but if you are staying there you most likely fish there.

Enid would work for me.If I want to fish another lake Sardis and Grenada are right there! That's a good idea Feesh! I like it.I usually stay at least 4 days where ever we have camp! Cossar is a nice place for sure!Enid is not too big and not too small!

Just thinking out loud here.....are the camps really about catching big fish ?....or are they really about fellowship ? or both ? I know years ago the camp cookout was always held the same day as a FJ touney....or maybe a small tourney....it turned out to be too much of a hassle trying to fish then cook or tend to things at the cook out. Then our tournament fisherman said they didn't want that anymore....they wanted to fish and relax without the pressure of a tourney and were more interested in the cookout. I have only brought my boat and fished at two camps.... the rest I have just come to visit. So you guys tell us what you want.

to the ones that travel I would think it would be about both, why else would they bring a boat? Not arguing just thinking out loud as well. I did not fish at all till Sunday myself but I live here.

Feeshrman I havent been to Enid and I hope to make it there for fall camp and agree it would be nice to have a permanate site. But like Rees said you tend to fish where you are staying and if I had done that this time I wouldnt be as happy as I am now most likely as I am one the 5 Rees is talking about. As far as everything being in one location its 5-10 minutes from the cabins over to the campsites, and I think if your coming from the Enid back to hugh white where I was launching at its going to take you almost an hour to get there driving through Grenada. But wherever you decide what to do I will try my best to be there.

Well.....Enid has some three pounders too.....just don't here about it as much.....maybe that's a good thing though everybody will be fishing and putting pressure on Grenada lol I have caught some good fish out of Enid...and Sardis too....still looking for a three pounder though. But you guys fish more aggressively than I do...I am a geezer and I fish to relax....always have even when I was young. Whatever you decide suits me but I gotta say, I like feeshes idea. your right between the other two lakes and can fish either one of them.

Yes I am G. I think it has the best facilities in one location to support our gatherings. As far as the fishing goes, everyone knows Grenada has giant fish and Sardis is close behind in size and has more numbers. These two lakes are less than a thirty minute drive from Cossar. I doubt anyone who has driven any distance would balk at driving that much farther to fish a world class lake. Enid itself is a better fishery than most states have available. The camps are an opportunity for relaxation, learning, meeting new friends, and catching up with old friends. How else could we do this better than if we were all at the same location. I noticed this weekend at Grenada I only got to visit briefly with many friends I have made on this site. Some were staying in cabins, others at the campground, which were located miles apart. Some folks I didn't even see until the cookout. I just think their could be a better way.
