Very nice Mermentau! That big black on the left sure looks healthy. You are in a cayak right? Bet that was fun!

Well a bad start makes a good finish. Left the landing with it blowing thinking I would scratch, but managed 13 and a good day. My fish where all deep between 9-11 fow. I like a dummy thought they had probably spawned, but no. 12 had eggs and the other was a male. Caught them on Bobby Garland baby shad tight line. All in one spot in Pelba. Had them caught by 11:30 on what seemed like a windy day until the sky cleared and the wind really blew.
Enjoyed meeting the legendary Jig Rig. Really made my day. Had been grumbling to my wife about how I'm getting a little lonely always going by myself, and he broke the loneliness in a good way.
I didn't pose the fish for the pic, but a few of them where pretty nice.![]()

"So many places to fish so little time to fish them!"
Nice, about to head that way.
Mermentau, I fished Henderson this past Friday and pretty much did just the opposite of you. I had 13 nice fish, every one a male. I caught them in the North Flats about 18 inches deep. Lot's of grass to contend with but it's worth the hassle. It's good to hear those females have not made it to the shallows yet, at least not where I was fishing. Thanks for your report and good luck….BC
We're u in a yellow kayak Saturday?
