The same as in Georgia. They should start bedding on or around the 15th (full moon). I use rubber brn crickets and gulp's white waxies/asticots. Live bait is probably the best but the artificial is a lot less hassel and they never fail me. Good luck!

Not really crickets...I forget what they're called....

April 5th is going to be too early to catch bluegill spawning. Shellcracker will probably be getting ready but I dont think there will be much action for bedding fish until the full moon which is a little later in the month. You can still catch plenty of big bluegill around the docks with crickets. May even catch some crackers if you have red worms with you as well. Dont pass up the crappie fishing during this time either, the river on the south end of George is pretty good all the time. If you contact me when yall get down I can give you some recent reports, I dont mind.
