My PB Walleye 14#4oz was caught on a day where wind was blowing from every direction and rain was usually parallel to lake surface. I admit, I should have packed it in before the weather turned but fish were biting like they knew it was their last meal for a week. Finally caught something big, figured it was a sheepshead but did not feel like breaking off my last silver/orange jigging spoon. Took 20 minutes to get the fish and holy cow GET THE NET! Saw that flash of white and knew it was a big eye. During that time, boat did about 3 360's from wind change quite a trip and quite a ride.

South end of Lake Michigan, Perch fishing. If the wind switches to the east it's like you flipped a switch.

Fish every chance you get and don't worry about the ol' saying. They will eat sometime during the day.

But, I can always use it as an "excuse" for not catching anything during a East or North wind, and doing good during a West or South wind

Haven't ever checked on that one. I have seen folks that swore that the one about the cows standing or laying down to be true. Once new a guide that said if he knew that his client was a believer in the solunar tables in the hunting mags he would take them where he knew they would not catch fish when the table said they should and would take them where he knew they would catch something when the table said they would not be biting. A hook thats not in the water will not catch fish regardless of all factors we can think of.

My philosophy is NEVER SAY THEY AIN'T BITING , most days if you hang in there long enough most days you will be rewarded. You must keep hunting and using your electronics along with your fishing sense .

My saying goes, tons of sun, no wind no rain no fish!
