I think I am with the majority here but... I grew up with parents that ate all they could. Fried and on toast. I never could acquire a taste for them. Having said that, a buddy and I got into a bunch of swollen crappie one afternoon and when cleaning them, I saved the eggs and took them over to my mom. You would have thought I gave her her leg back, She hobbled into the kitchen, grabbed a skillet, some butter and cornmeal. Popped some bread into the toaster, made herself an afternoon snack. Probably the most food she had eaten in 6 months.
Later that evening my sister called called and asked what those things were in the refrigerator. I told her and she was not a happy camper. About that time mom came into the kitchen and started a fresh batch. Sister then asked if I was gonna be home later, I said yes. When she dropped by she said that was the most food she had seen mom eat in months, I told her about the quick snack when I brought them over. She was incredulous. Took mom 4 days to get thru the 24 sacks of eggs. To this day. I will always remember how happy she was having something she liked to eat in her last spring. So even if you cant stomach them, if you know someone that does, make their day.
