    Default 2014 Crappie Masters Lake Grenada weights

    Thought I'd post this to emphasize A. just how good Lake Grenada is and B. Just how good of anglers there are from some of the surrounding states. This tourney brings in millions of dollars every year to the town of Grenada and those surrounding. There's a need for stay accommodations here for sure, but you'd think some towns that host lakes in LA would jump on board:

    *29 teams weighed in a 3+lber
    * 1st place had a 2.93lb avg/fish

    A true marvel in crappie fishing. Hopefully some areas and towns in LA will open their eyes.

    I was in Grenada on Friday night with my 87 year old Dad revisiting the area where he and my Mother used to buy antiques when she was still living. We stayed at a motel there where several competitors were. I asked the guys what they thought it would take to win it and they agreed 7 fish 20+ pound stringers, so they were right on target! WOW Went out to the lake Saturday am for a look (no boat Dad's vacation) and the lake has only 1/3 of water level in it. One landing by the campground area is 150 yards to the waters edge. The sad part is water is still flowing out. An older local man there said it was a conservation effort before spring water comes in possible flooding down stream?
    I did see one truck with CDC decal on back window with Arkansas license plate on it? Any ideas on what member was there? The guys at motel said they had heard a lot of good things about CDC so YAAAAYYY ~~<*{{{{<<

    Our club BSCA is working to help bring this opportunity into Louisiana. We already have the ball rolling as I have contacted a Host city and I have been working closely with local government bodies and the Deptartment of Tourism. I have the official "go-ahead" from the Host Location to proceed with plans to bring this to a reality. They are already supporting other events that the "BSCA" has initiated and I feel confident they will continue the efforts.

    I have been in contact with Mike Vallentine of Crappie Masters and we have discussed the possibility to bring CM into Louisiana. Much work to be done and much preparation for an event like this. We also have options here!

    In addition be on the look out for similar events that are in the plannings stages now. I cannot give full details, but we are working on something Large. The BSCA will be involved in the planning and construction of this new opportunity for local Crappie Anglers. So keep an open mind, and watch for more information to come in 2015!

    There are great opportunities on the horizon for us crappie folk, Louisiana needs to get a foot in the door so to speak. I have several leads to follow up and we are certain that the BSCA will be totally involved. We are more than just a crappie club. We have ideas and plans to improve the presence of "Crappie Related Events" here at home. It is part of our responsibility to be a leader in generating this awareness and promote our favorite "Fish".

    It was an awesome tourney, lots of crappie.com folks there too. The amazing thing is that a lot of those teams weighing 3 lbers had multable 3s.
