    Default Saturday-Burnt Mills-2 crappie

Fishing has been horrible for me over the last two months. I went all the way the the end of Burnt Mills yesterday, to the ends of numerous creeks and all I caught were 2 pike. The two crappie I caught were in water near 18'-20' deep in the main lake and they were down towards the bottom. However, winds gusting to 28 would not allow me to fish these spots and it took me a while to catch these 2 anyways. I was surprised to show the water temp at 48 when I arrived and even 47 up some creeks. (I thought it would be warmer) It did warm up to 54 later in the day but it didn't help the bite any.

Fished BM yesterday 1200 to 1700 with oldest son. The fish are still deep (25 to 30 feet right off bottom) and near the front of the lake out of the wind. Caught over forty the first hour then tried the back of the lake where we also had no luck (not even green carp). Color or bait did not matter for the fish caught. Caught on 4 different BGBS colors and also on bare minnows. Fish were smaller than last week with most 9 to 10.5 inches.

This has been a tough winter & the fish aren't convinced it's over yet.

Size: 48.7 KB35 fish, kept 25 Saturday. Must of seen you TomO as I was getting off. I agree that fish are hugging the bottom. Only caught 15 today, Sunday. Front came thru and the wind was howling. Bite shut off 11:30 am.
