Thread: Holt Lake Butner, NC and Kerr Lake Coal Ash Spill

Hey, any of you NC brothers fish Holt Lake in Butner NC off old 75hwy? Any tips? Also the Eno River ramp off Redmill Rd. I hear the crappie get up in there which empties into the back of falls lake. Any experience up in there?

Can we drop brush piles in Kerr Lake? We camp towards Satterwhite, but the fishing at that end stinks. Never caught much of nothing! Everyone says the best fishing is grassy creek end of lake. What about the coal ash spill? Is that affecting fishing on that end??

you shouldn't have to put any brush out in the Grassy area. Just idle aroun the first day you go there an you will find enuff to fish for many days. I have over 400 brush piles marked on Buggs. I found many an put in many also. Nutbush is about the only creek where this doesn't hold true on Buggs, but Grassy is the best IMHO. Rite now the crappie are bein caught in the upper creeks: Buffalo, Bluestone, Orange, Sandy, Peters, Aarons, and the upper ends of Beaverpond an Grassy. Titeline trollin with minnows an jigs is workin best. most fish are in 8-12fow 2-3 feet deep.
