I recently purchased 2 Mr. Crappie spinning combos that i use for fishing minnows under lights at night. They came spooled with 6lb test Mr Crappie hi vis mono. Its chartrues colored. I normally use 6lb Stren clear blue. Has anyone had any experience with this line? Please share so i know whether or not to change it out for this weekend. I am going to Russell to give them a shot.

Thanks for the quick reply Stump Hunter. I guess I will give it a try. I see you are from Piedmont, I live in West Pelzer. My name is Lee.
It is strong line but unravels from some of my spinning reels at times I don't want it to.
I use it 8lb and 10lb which ever is available. Just use it spider rigging. It works fine
Thanks guys! I have been a Bass Fishermen for 15 years and have only been Crappie fishing at night with minnows all these years. I have been doing plenty of reading lately on this forum trying to learn about using Jigs. I have never caught a Crappie on a jig and have really only tried them 4 or 5 times that i can remember. I hope to start giving it more of a try. Its just so hard to leave the bass rods at home when its daylight!

Unfortunately I learned that lesson the hard way on my bass and catfishing outfits... I spooled up 10 different reels at one time, not paying any attention to this and 7 out of the 10 were wrong.. i ended up letting out all of the line behind the boat and reeling it all back in to get the twist out.. it was quite irritating!
