I stayed home today to just be present and pay for the pumping out of our waste water treatment system...... it went like this.
Did you know our septic tank holds 1100 gallons? I didn't. It's essentially 3 chambers, (it) comes in and goes into pre-treatment, then into aeration, then clarification, and finally a clean, odorless water is pumped out. The "old" man who showed up to pump it out said "who covered the pump door with dirt?" I'm like "the people who installed it 15 years ago." He said "I need to pump out the pre-treatment chamber, that's where the stuff is at. I can't dig that hole". I said "I'll dig the hole, where should I dig". So dig I did and he was laughing telling me I didn't know how to dig a hole so we dug together. He got his job done and 2 1/2 hours later we sat on the front porch, muddy, dirty, and a little smelly. We had a nice little laugh. The service technicians will be out tomorrow to install concrete rings around that damn pump door so I never have to do this again.
Randy said I should end this with "Life in the County". LOL

Okay fellas, I know, but she loves the country living. It's a team effort out here and she knows what it takes. She really enjoys getting away and going to a lake cabin somewhere with our dogs just for the time off. We do that quite often. Off we all go next week to Toledo Bend once again. New shoes and garden gloves will follow. It's funny that those shoes are on the front porch still and the dogs won't get near them.
My best friend for sure - a scientist from Virginia Tech (master's), loves country living - hates subdivisions, loves dogs, gardening, etc., etc. Sometimes gets interesting around here without television when a scientist and engineer engage in conversation. She's a keeper for sure - love her to pieces. (I guess it's easy to say that after talking to her on the phone yesterday and telling her to pick up a shovel). I am sure glad that during football season she doesn't follow Virginia Tech, there would be problems then
. I owe her more than what I have to give.

Hey Randy,
Tel your wife I spent many a summer around Blacksburg. I've even fished the duck pond on the VT campus.
The Blue Ridge Scout Reservation was the main attraction out side Hiwassee. East of Claytor Lake. My Scouts are growend with families of their own now.
I loved catching small mouths on the New River with a chartreuse 4" lizard.

I'll tell her JR. About 20 years ago we went up there for about three years in a row to attend October Fest in the Fall. We stayed in a cabin by Mountain Lake where they filmed Dirty Dancing. Pretty country for sure.
