It's definitely more stressful always trying to hold your position. I was the first one on the lake this morning at 5:45. Fishermen started coming in about 6:30 and by 6:45 I had 5 boats within spitting distance of me and it's not like they had nowhere else to fish. I guess it's because I'm such a likeable person. Lol.

I don't know about going to those places where it's that intense, not for me, no way. Won't do it. I go and fish, not necessarily to "catch" as some put it, but just go. Time off and time on the water is my priority, not to fill a freezer. Most of the time I catch a few and call it good and just ride around to enjoy the outdoors. My freezer always has fish, so I am good with that. Don't need, nor care for, the aggravation you fellas are talking about. Toledo Bend has 1,200 miles of shoreline. I find peace there watching a cork in the back of a creek or slow trolling along a moss line with nobody around. My 2 cents.

That's what I'm trying figure out, made a trip to bayou Corne a year or so ago, we were the only boat in a short cut. This other boat comes in with a trolling motor adjusted to where it made this terrible sloshing sound when he turned it. He, and his fishing buddy were just happy as could be turning that cut into a whirlpool, passing our right behind our boat, and casting into cover we were fishing.
Then last spring I was at Henderson, and had been bass fishing most of the morning without much luck. I decided to try the sacs in north Bigeaux, on a few spots. As I was fishing my way back south from up near the Fordouche area, the boats had come in and were lined up and down the banks. I fished the area I wanted to try, and decided to move in and see what all the fuss along the bank was about. I sat there a few minutes to carefully plot my way in without interfering/encroaching with anyone else. There was a guy fishing way down to my left, he had been there stationary fishing away. Started making my way in with the trolling motor, I probably gave him 3x-4x or more the spacing between all of the other boats in the area. As a matter of fact, I was far enough away from this guy, that I could've picked up my 7' casting rod w/ a Curado reel, casted 5 times and still not be anywhere near him.
Well he started squawking, thought for a second he was asking if I had done any good, he was out of earshot. Then after cupping my hands behind my ears and listening really hard, I discovered otherwise. He was on the verge of stroking out, throwing a huge fit, tied up to his stump, it made me laugh.

So PP is out for me after this report. Anyone wanna let me in on what the best water level is for Grenada? I'm hoping to go next week, but am leery since I hear they're having crappie tournaments there for the next 3 weekends.
Good luck to all you PP goers.
Be careful bayou. Grenada can be bad to. Rude fisherman are really everywhere. If their are a lot of tournaments you can bet people are gonna be temperamental. Jmo

Bayoumonster don't let this thread keep you from one of the best spots to crappie fish in the south,It can get a little crowded in the north coves for sure but it ain't that bad.The wind has a lot to do with how small PP fishes. The worst thing I've seen is boats coming tru to fast...rolling a wake as they pass by the "no wake" markers.I would try Lake Washington before I went to Grenada...it has been getting good reports of some 3lbers.
I appreciate the reports, guys. It appears the weather is going to ruin all my plans either way.
