    Default Bayou Plaquemine - 03/18/2014

Found some spawning male whites today. Managed to keep 7. Quite a few toss backs, and it seems they don't hook as well as feeding fish.

All where real shallow under a cork. Not another boat seen all day. Man that frost on the windshield was a surprise. Going back Thursday and might get 8 or better. Hate frosty windshields.

Have you fished Mermentau lately? I am heading to the camp at Morgan Shores and giving it a try this weekend.

Last Friday and I caught 6 spawning males well up the river near HWY 90.

Went back today for a dozen sacs and a bass. Seem like the fish were a tad deeper. I found that I had to be more aggressive in setting the hook or they would get off. Caught in some spots that hadn't produced before which is always fun.
