Started out slow trolling minnows found them on some brush in 35' got several bites only caught a couple of small ones. I remembered reading lake Maumelle tournament report's & the similarities to the situation I was in. Started casting a Rockport Rattler 1/8oz black with yellow eyes Lake Fork style body blck/chart with silver flakes tipped with silver nibble. Long cast letting it sink to the bottom SLOW retrieval the bite was so light it felt like the jig was stuck on the bottom. In the past I would have kept trying to shove minnows down their throats. Lesson learned you need to be versatile and willing to shake things up when the bites not right! Thank you Crappie.com!!! <Fish On>

The pits sure have not produced like last year , glad you were able to find some there.
Good job catching some good fish. I'm like you were. I am first a minner shover and I can tell you first hand it is not the best way to catch fish everytime. I've worked this year at trying to being more versitile and have had fun doing it. Hope you catch a bunch more.
