With water temps running in the 50's you would think it would be on, but everyone seems to be struggling. Had a buddy drive down fish fri. caught 3 and drove home 3 1/2 hrs one way. maybe in a week or two.

Went out if the comfort zone today and fished two areas that I have never layed eyes on. So my adventure begin at mud creek. I put in the water and right off the bat stuggled to find any fish. Finally picked up one about 2 hrs later on a minnow in about 5ft of water and that was the only one. After being frustrated I decide to load up and head to BB Coomer Bridge and again struggled for about two hrs before low and behold found some fish in about 10ft of water long-lining bobby garland in bluegrass color . Ended up only keeping 8 all day. It was a struggle but thankful I didn't get skunked. The pic is of the two biggest ones of the day

nice couple of slabs, way to stay after them
We fished Saturday managed 14 keepers fished 6 hours not good. The bite was so light you could barely feel a thump, when using minnows your cork would hardly move, I think they would suck it in and spit it out.
The Jones cove area up river from the bridge is a great area to fish. The two islands you go between to go into the cove is a nice hot spot. The creek in the very back is very good but watch out for the stumps.
Got to fish a couple hours (in between everything else) yesterday on Gville and ended up with 16 long lining.
Tried a different area this morning and idled around everywhere and could not find any fish to try and catch. Loaded boat and went back
to camper.
thanks for sharing
In humble reverance to the GREAT I AM! THAT I AM!
It's been tough for everybody I think. Got my first skunk 2 weeks ago and managed 7 last weekend and finally got on some fish Saturday with the right colors.
And that rock bank in Jones is also called "four pound alley" for bass. The hanging trees are sometimes good for crappie. About 6 years ago, I caught the biggest crappie of my life in there. It was before I started bringing a camera. It might have actually been the record. I swear it was that big. It barely fit in my huge net - it was one of those get the head in there jobs. I didn't have my live well filled. I looked at the fish, it looked at me -- and I put it back. It was one of those nature moments I will never forget.
It was still cold. A minute later this bass comes flying out of the water right about where I hooked the crappie, and I thought to myself, since it was the first jumping fish I saw all year, that it was my crappie going back to its bed to scare off the scavengers.
That's something else I'd like to share, now that I think about it. When I was little, fishing in the creek by our house every day, and also by this little bridge, we'd watch the fish. We learned a lot. The bass were cool to watch. They hunted like a pack of wolves.
Anyway, when the big brim were bedding, when you catch them, all those other fish that the fish you catch has been guarding that nest against, well those fish swarm in fast - real fast. It only takes a matter of seconds for them to get in there and take the goodies, of course depending on what stage of the spawn the fish is in. If you release said fish, you can bet it hurries back to the scene. It's that way with all of them. It's a jungle under the surface there.

mud creek is a crazy place, sometimes they will be in a place one day and the next day they wont. Did you try fishing around the two bridges, I usually catch some around there at times.
