    Default Santee Tag Team Action

Tommy and I met up at the boat landing for a little tight lining tag team action. We concentrated in the 7 to 12 water depths fishing Rooty jigs tipped with minnows. Colors were varied, with a couple seeming to be better than others. All were green combined with other color variations. The day started out a very cool 26 degrees, with calm winds. The temps remained somewhat cool all day, especially when the wind decide to kick up around 8:30 or so. For the most part, the fishing was very slow to start the day. At 10:00am 9 fish were in the boats, with size not at its best. A move was in order, so we reeled up, and blasted off. While baiting and setting the poles out in our new fishing grounds, it didn't take long before a fat mama crappie was flopping in the bottom of the boat, then another couple more in short order. The bite remained steady for our remaining time on the water. A box full of slabs, consisting of two limits was culled down to, a beautiful sight they were being that I haven't had a chance to fish much this year with house renovations and bad weather on my days off, it sure felt good to get in on some big crappie action.
