    Default Fishing Vacation

My wife and I, along with our two sons (ages 14 & 16) are talking about taking a fishing vacation on the second week of June.

We would like to rent a cabin and spend a week on an Arkansas lake fishing and relaxing. We would probably want to hire a guide for the first day of the trip in order to get a good idea of how best to maximize our fishing for the trip.

We've considered Horseshoe Lake and Lake Conway.

    Any suggestions? Guides? Lakes? Cabins?
    Is winter over yet?

Try looking up around Norfork/Bll shoals area. There are plenty of guides up there. I hear Jerry Blake is now on Norfork also. Lots of fish in the area, stripers, bass, crappie, trout, walleye...

Lots of water, lots of fish, and lots to do up there also.

I would suggest Creekslick for a Guide on Greers Ferry Lake or for a family vacation. You can also swim in that lake. I would only suggest a vacation on Conway or maybe Horseshoe for that matter if your a bachelor and have a strong will to learn the art of Vertical jigging timber or dock shooting. Also some great trout fishing below the dam at Greers, last hatchery outflow pipe on the river. Go during low level water flux and even better at night. Hint Hint. JMTC

CrappiePro has a great idea with greers, let me say i went to greeson a few years ago and camped at the state park. Amazing! Bald eagles everywhere! The bath houses were new and the nicest i ever seen. You may get a guide. I just got gps quads to the brush piles and was able to come home with a couple messes. Greeson is beautiful! Dont overlook Norfork either, Some of the best weekends of my life were on that lake! Arkansas is the Natural state!

Tony I would think you will get all the info you need and more with that post. Hope your family has a great vacation trip! If skiing and swimming is not gonna be that big of an issue (water still pretty cool that time of year) I would vote Creekslick myself. You have good options on catching trout on the tail water below the dam. Plus tons to do and see around there.

Wish you were in Alabama. I could fix you up with a cabin and put you on the fish. Good luck with your vacation.
