    Default Crappie fishing demolition derby

So I've been poking around on ky lake this week doing a little pre fishing in prep for Saturdays tourney. For whatever reason my normal go to spots aren't producing like they usually do so I decided to poke around in some other areas. Normally I avoid Jonathan creek this time of the year cause I'm not into playing bumper boats but decided halfway through today to go give it a shot in hopes of finding some better fish. Boy was that a mistake. I'd say there was 75 boats on the little side when I got there. I eased upwind of the crowd, got my rods set out, and watched the asshattery unfold. I've never seen so many people jockey to fish the same 300 yard stretch of water in my entire life. I saw 3 boats literally spider rigging the same marker buoy After about an hour and a half I'd had all I wanted and was on my way to find less crowded surroundings when I noticed 2 boats spider rigging side by side literally 10 feet apart. Mind you the wind was blowing 10-14mph and the lake was almost white capping. Boat number one catches a fish and in landing it lets off his motor for a split second and drifts into boat number 2's spider rig tangling their rods together. I almost feel sorry for all these out of staters that vacation here and deal with that crap for a week solid....almost

I was fishing swamp creek in the Big Sandy area a couple years back got on some good fish so I threw a marker out BIG mistake!! Closet boat to me was about fifty or so yards after five or six fish an older man in a small jon boat decided he wanted to fish my marker needless to say I got ticked picked up my marker left poles in holders just reeled line up cranked my motor and made a couple circles around where the bouy was and left I don't mind telling someone where the fish are biteing in a general area but dont like someone trying to fish my marker when I'm fishing it myself. Haven't throwed a bouy out on Ky lake since.

Not surprised! Talked to another CDC'r yesterday morning, and he said there were already a BUNCH of boats in little Jonathan and it was early. All you can say is that it's "That Time of Year!"
