Default 2014 Oklahoma Spring Crappie Camp / Schedule of Events / June 6-7

2014 Oklahoma Spring Crappie Camp / Schedule of Events / June 6-7
The Spring Crappie Camp is scheduled for June 6-7 on Lake Eufaula at Arrowhead State Park at the Turkey Flat Campground. The Turkey Flat Campground is new and each site that we have reserved has full services: 110v, 30 amp & 50 amp electrical service, water and sewer connections. Each site also has a picnic table, grille and a fire ring. There is a new restroom and shower facility nearby. Each RV site is allowed one tent camper, at no extra charge, in addition to the RV. The normal rental rate is $23.00 per night and there is a $2.00 reduction for Seniors.

    Reserve Campsites Early!
The State Park has reserved ten (10) RV spaces in the Turkey Flat Campground for the Crappie Camp and will hold them until Monday, March 24th. If we need more spaces before the March 24th deadline, contact davebrown42 and we may be able to have the Park increase the number of the reserved spaces. After the March 24th date, you will have to call Paula at the Park Office, (918) 339-2204, and she will try to reserve you a space based on availability. Be sure and tell Paula that you are with the Crappie Camp.

How to reserve a RV space in the ten (10) spaces that have been reserved:
    1. Reply to davebrown42 that you want to reserve a space for the dates Thursday, June 5th and/or Friday, June 6th and/or Saturday, June 7th. Also indicate the length of your RV.
    2. The first night's rental rate of $23.00 ($21.00 for Seniors) will be required to hold the reservation.
    3. A response will be sent to you indicating where to send your deposit.
    4. After you arrive at the Campground, the Park Ranger or the Campground Host will come by your site to collect the balance. We suggest paying in cash and getting a receipt.

This sounds awesome, lots of fish are caught in that area that time of year, Blocker bridge rip rap, lots of brushpiles in 8-15ft, pulling jigs on main lake points, and standing timber in Mulhuldy creek and railroad cove. EB

EB, would you be available sometime on the Friday of the Camp to meet the folks to discuss good fishing locations in the area? We will have maps for them to mark on. Don't want any of your secret locations, just point them in the right direction. I'm hoping we can get Ranger09 to help also.....dave

Will I need to reserve a spot for primitive camping? I don't have one of those fancy rv-ma-bobs.

Dave I would be proud to help out in anyway I can. I had planned on fishing the Mid West Trail but things change so I will be around to help now. I would be willing to talk about techniques I use at the meeting if y'all have a time and place. We will also be sitting down and discussing our Tournament Trail for next year and I would also like to discuss this as well if you have time.......Ranger

Ranger09, we will make the time and place available! Thanks for helping out. We are going to have a lot of new people and/or inexperienced crappie fishermen that will appreciate you advice. I'll get back with you and coordinate the schedule....dave

There will be lots of tent camping spots available. We are allowed one tent at each RV site. I think I have one coming to mine but not for certain. But if I'm taken there will be lots of sites nearby.
