For those who don't have bigger boats like I don't, Sledd Creek has a new launch so I don't have to run in the big lake to get there.
The road in is not paved but there is a paved (and the old unpaved) launch there.
Parking is not great, but OK if you get there early enough during the week.

I figured Sledd would warm quicker than some of the other Northern end bays, I'll be there mid week, just hope swampdonkey hasn't caught them all by then. If you see me down there say hello will be in an older white/green Champion with a 175 Optimax. Gary

    Beware the

    .

I've been around these web forums a long time. There is no more sure fire way to kill a hunting of fishing spot than post about it on the internet. You don't have to be a member to read these posts, you just need an internet connection. The road to fishing or hunting Hell is paved with good intentions. I'd keep location specific info to PM's. I've seen it play out way too many times.

    Just my internet educated $.02

People also lie. You can tell people where to go but you have to figure out the fish. I agree you can ruin a spot but Sledd is a pretty good sized bay. You still have to have some knowledge and a fair amount of luck to pan out in there.

It is a fact that if you catch a few fish there are gonna be folks that follow you. Heck I'v had guys pull up and drop their darn anchor right in the middle of the bed I was fish'n. It's gonna happen. I've watched guys follow other guides as well as some of my buddies.

There are some darn good fishermen in this area and I am lucky enough to be able to call many of them my friend. That is probably the single thing that helps me catch more fish. We have a pretty tight network of friends that swap info. Not on spots or bays (HINT HINT!!!), but more on techniques, colors, speed, depth, water color, etc... We honor each other's space and give as well as receive info. You can't put a price tag on that kinda friendship. They have made me a better fisherman. That's kinda what CDC does... It allows for an exchange of info. You can cover a lot of water that way.

Now, with that being said... You CAN give out a little TOO MUCH info! Hint Hint!!!

I will warn everyone that I do have a little bit of an ornery streak in me and I love a good joke. Sooooooo... If you choose to follow the purple boat, 1. You better have a big motor! 2. Be prepared for a wild goose chase!

I had a n ol'boy in a jon boat watching me year before last. He was setting back and lining me up! I noticed every time I left a spot he'd run right over there, mark it, and fish it. I though "why you ol'fart, I'll have some fun with you!" I started going to random spots, throwing out a marker and just setting there fishing dead water. After about the second or third time, I think he saw me laugh'n at him and figured out what I was do'n. I woulda done that all day if he'd have stuck with it!

There's one bay on this lake that I just about won't fish. It's a good bay too. It's just that I have some friends that have invested a lot of time, money, and effort into putting stuff out. There is about a 90% chance that anything I stumble across in that bay, is gonna be something they have put out. Now I ain't gonna lie... If I find it, I'm gonna mark it and fish it. I'm not without sin!

Bottom line boys... If you wanna get away from the crowds do like me and my buddies do. Fish when it's about 35 degrees and everybody else is setting on the couch at the house watch'n a ball game.
    Pretty well said there.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Then you're also assuming that people looking at this website can't fish or don't have two eyeballs to see where people are catching fish once they get there. Look, I've seen it happen over and over and you're kidding yourself if you actually believe the excuses for it. It's of no consequence to somebody that doesn't fish there again after they've had a good day somewhere but have some common courtesy for the people that may call that area home. A little bit of discretion goes a long, long way and the more times someone gets burned, the less eager they are to help someone else out.

Did I say where in Sledd to go??? No. That would be discretion. The man asked a question and got an answer. He didn't get any more information than can be gleaned anywhere. Didn't give any gps coordinates or which area is most productive.
