Pick a bay with a channel running through it and you should catch fish. Dont like the crowd either.

Just in case the sarcasm didnt come through I was just pickin at ole whiskers. I'm definitely not a boat chaser. Never fished sledd and I don't plan on starting. That being said there are an awful lot of people that troll the forums trying to pick up any shred of info to flock to and I'm sure being a well known and very productive guide is gonna make you a target for those that prefer to let others do the leg work. Having that super awesome boat don't help you keep a low profile either.

I picked up on it. Got a good laugh out of it. No problem We all know pick'n when we hear it. I'm one of the worst! Ask my buddies.
It is a fact that if you catch a few fish there are gonna be folks that follow you. Heck I'v had guys pull up and drop their darn anchor right in the middle of the bed I was fish'n. It's gonna happen. I've watched guys follow other guides as well as some of my buddies.
There are some darn good fishermen in this area and I am lucky enough to be able to call many of them my friend. That is probably the single thing that helps me catch more fish. We have a pretty tight network of friends that swap info. Not on spots or bays (HINT HINT!!!), but more on techniques, colors, speed, depth, water color, etc... We honor each other's space and give as well as receive info. You can't put a price tag on that kinda friendship. They have made me a better fisherman. That's kinda what CDC does... It allows for an exchange of info. You can cover a lot of water that way.
Now, with that being said... You CAN give out a little TOO MUCH info! Hint Hint!!!
I will warn everyone that I do have a little bit of an ornery streak in me and I love a good joke. Sooooooo... If you choose to follow the purple boat, 1. You better have a big motor!2. Be prepared for a wild goose chase!
I had a n ol'boy in a jon boat watching me year before last. He was setting back and lining me up! I noticed every time I left a spot he'd run right over there, mark it, and fish it. I though "why you ol'fart, I'll have some fun with you!" I started going to random spots, throwing out a marker and just setting there fishing dead water. After about the second or third time, I think he saw me laugh'n at him and figured out what I was do'n. I woulda done that all day if he'd have stuck with it!
There's one bay on this lake that I just about won't fish. It's a good bay too. It's just that I have some friends that have invested a lot of time, money, and effort into putting stuff out. There is about a 90% chance that anything I stumble across in that bay, is gonna be something they have put out. Now I ain't gonna lie... If I find it, I'm gonna mark it and fish it. I'm not without sin!
Bottom line boys... If you wanna get away from the crowds do like me and my buddies do. Fish when it's about 35 degrees and everybody else is setting on the couch at the house watch'n a ball game.

Wiskers let them all fish Sledd after they get there butts beat from not catching any thing they will quit.
Yes there is fish in sledd But it also seems to be the first bay on the north end to go dead with any slite change in the lake depth and it gets very dirty with just a little rain.
Use to be a pretty quiet place to fish until they put the new ramp in. Now that they done that on the week ends they Need a state trooper to direct traffic.
Also better have a good sonar to find the beds because they are right shes pretty flat.
I am glad that everyone will be in sledd that way I will go to .............. bay and not have to deal with all the traffic.
You can follow the purple boat, you can be where 400 purple boats are. Only problem is you gotta know what color, what depth, what song on the radio, and most importantly, how do you hold your mouth. That's the secret!

I am not a boat chaser or looking for specific spots just trying to save a trip to buy another topo map. Ive fished your lake for 7 years, maybe harvested a couple hundred fish total. Been there without another soul on the water too. Im not a spring chicken, i fish when i can, which is usuaslly after a rain. Not trying to leech info, just asking questions. I apologize if I came across that way.
Dont apologize for asking questions that is how we all learn a thing or two. Find a bay close to where you are launching. Go to navionics web app its free by the way! Find ky lake and the area where you will launch from. Find a bay and look for creek channel in them. Pick your spots and work em to you find fish. Could be deep or shallow. Thats how I do it.
