I have a question for all you central Arkansas guys. My wife and I just bought a couple of acres to build our retirement place that give us lakefront property on Horseshoe lake. It's supposed to be a semi-private lake, but I see folks that don't live on it launching boats. Have any of you fished it or heard of anyone telling how it is?
Thanks,
Tony

I live not far from Horseshoe. I live across the highway from Willow Beach subdivision about 3 miles from that little lake on the east side of the hwy. I have never fished Horseshoe, but if you need help figureing it out, I would gladly make the jumup acrosst the hwy to help out. I fish several of the oxbows in the area, and I find that they are all similar.
the blow downs are a good starting point, and then you need to find the deeper spots also.

Cookout at your house. Unofficial tournament on the lake with all found fish/structure coordinates going to you at the end of the day. Problem solved. We may even bring a house warming gift to the cookout.

Used to fish Old River lake a bunch. I went to church with a fella that had a place there and I had an insurance client on the other end. We just drifted spider rigs for crappie most of the time. In the spring, if the weather holds right, they stack up around the brush and small coves.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
