    Default trolling motor which one


    I have been looking at trolling motors I know I want a 12 volt variable speed but cant choose between the minnkota maxxum or the motor guide fw 54 digital. The price is close on each but would like some feed back and why one over the other.

    Minkota, never had a problem with any one I have owned. Not so with MG, had problems with the ones I have had.

    I have a Minnkota Maxxium with built in maximizer and love it. Best on the market IMO, that infinite speed control is the best thing about it.

    Minnkota hands down I had one no problems switched to motor guide and nothing but problems, that's why my new boat is coming with a Terrova.
