Default 3rd Annual Smithville FISH Day

Volunteers needed for 3rd Annual FISH Day at Smithville Lake. April 19, 2014. We will be focusing on the Crow's Creek Arm this year from 9 am until we run out of trees. Registration begins at 9 am at the USACE Jerry Litton Visitor Center. We will have 4 habitat barges installing huge hardwood brushpiles in the lake. Bring a pair of gloves and a strong back! Last year we were able to put in over 100 brushpiles in 1 day! Please contact me and let me know if you are interested in helping out.

There are only two kinds of people that understand Marines: Marines and the enemy. Everyone else has a second-hand opinion.

    Default Count me in...

I only have half of the required items; the pair of gloves, but that did not stop me the last 2 years. This is an event I look forward to each year, see you Saturday.

Welcome to the site, slowbite. I'll see you out there.

Here's a couple other things to consider. Bring your own life jacket if you plan on going out on the water. Also, last year, I wore a crappy pair of tennis shoes. Shoulda worn my good boots. I won't be making that mistake again this year!

Yes...there is plenty do, both on the barges and on shore. Definitely wear boots and bring gloves, tho. And there may be spare PFD's for anyone who doesn't have their own.

Should be a beautiful day tomorrow, if a bit windy. Looking forward to being out at the Litton Visitor's Center a little before 9am.

I'll be there in the morning. Where is the visitors center?
